Graham Koch

Graham Koch possesses more than 40 years experience in the industry and is called upon by many of his competitors in fact for advice on complicated insurance and financial structures.

Having worked for such big names such as Westpac, Suncorp, AXA and MLC, he comes with a wealth of knowledge and behind the scenes experience that is unrivalled in our region.

Graham holds an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) and has clients in the areas of Accounting, Law, Medicine and Commerce as well as many charitable and community organisations. He is a member of the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) and is a Commissioner for Declarations with the Queensland Government’s Department of Justice and Attorney-General.

He is the Chairman of the Dr. Edward Koch Foundation Ltd., a non-profit organisation supporting public health in North Queensland. The Foundation is closely associated with Queensland Health’s Tropical Public Health Unit and the University of Queensland’s Department of Social and Preventative Medicine.  The Dr Edward Koch Foundation was formed to honour Dr Edward Koch, who was the medical director of the Cairns Hospital in the late 1880s.  Dr Koch also happens to be Graham’s late great grandfather so he is honoured to carry on the family legacy and contribute to life changing programs in our region.

Graham also serves the community through his involvement in Rotary International.  He was District Governor in 2011-12 for District 9550, covering Northern Australia and East Timor.

Janet Koch

Janet joined her husband Graham in the Practise in October 1993 leaving behind a career of 5 years in the real estate and building Industry.

Janet initially started doing Home and Motor Insurance for Graham’s clients and then moved on to become a Commercial Broker in 1999 and obtained the AFS Licence in 2002.

Janet has an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and is the Responsible Officer and Director for KIB.

She makes sure the office is compliant at all times and up to date with the legislation and key wordings of Insurance Contracts.

Simon Jackson

Simon has been working for KIB since July 2009 however he has been in the Finance and Insurance industry since 1986. Using his extensive experience he attends to our new business to obtain the best coverage for our clients at the best price.

Allan Ackerly

Allan Ackerly was born in Cairns in 1984 and has lived here ever since. Allan joined KIB in March 2015 after obtaining his Diploma of Financial Planning in late 2014. His role at KIB is to assist Graham Koch and place an importance on making sure the client’s needs and objectives are met by arranging their insurance, superannuation and other investment applications in a timely and thorough manner.

Dale Webster

Dale Webster has been working for KIB since October 2011. Dale attends mostly to our business renewals and is willing to go that extra mile to help with client’s needs. Dale has completed her Diploma in Financial Services (insurance Broking), but says you learn something new every day in this industry.

David Koch

David is a Paraplanner and general insurance claims manager. David has worked in the insurance industry since 1997 and holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking). David works from his home office in Melbourne where he has lived since 2002.

Claire Wilcocks

Claire comes from South Africa and has 18 years General Insurance experience. Claire is bright and bubbly and willing to assist clients to the best of her ability. Claire currently works with and assists Graham Koch and Allan Ackerly in the Financial Planning Department and looks forward to being of assistance to KIB’s clients.
